Located in the heart of New York's Greenwich Village, the historic Salmagundi Club has served as a home for outstanding American art since its founding in 1871. Within a decade it grew from an informal sketch class to an internationally recognized arts organization. Thomas Moran, the Club's fourth President, called it "the most artistic association in the whole country," and today Salmagundi continues its traditions of
helping the American public to a greater understanding and appreciation of art.
